The numbers are in – and they tell a powerful story of who we are and where we’re going.

📈 Margaret ranks as the 10th fastest-growing city in Alabama in 2025.
We’ve grown by over 5.4% just this year – outpacing more than 290 other cities statewide.

📊 Our population has skyrocketed from 1,169 in 2000 to an estimated 6,654 in 2024.

That’s a 470% growth in less than 25 years – and over 50% just since 2010.

Nearly 1 in 3 residents is under 18, and the median age is just 31. We’re a young, working-class city – full of families, builders, and momentum.

A Legacy of Strength. A Future Worth Fighting For.

Margaret was established in 1907 as a coal mining town for the Alabama Fuel and Iron Company – named after the daughter of Charles DeBardeleben. Incorporated in 1960 and recognized as an official city in 2011, we’ve transformed from a company town into St. Clair County’s fastest-growing communities.

We may span just 9.3 square miles, but our impact stretches far beyond that. St. Clair County is the 11th fastest-growing county in Alabama, and Margaret is leading the way.

Growth Without a Plan Is Chaos

And here’s the challenge:

Our roads haven’t kept up.

Our drainage systems are aging.

Our infrastructure is cracking under the weight of this rapid growth.

We are not just growing – we’re surging. But surging without strategy is dangerous.

What We Need Now: Leadership That Builds

  • I’ve already secured hundreds of thousands in grants.
  • I’ve pushed for real budgets and transparent planning.
  • I’ve established relationships across the County and State.
  • I’ve stood up when others stayed silent.

Now it’s time to go further.

Margaret deserves:

  • Emergency readiness that protects every neighborhood
  • Transparent government that works for the people
  • Smart budgeting that reflects real needs
  • Infrastructure planning that matches our pace of growth

We’re at a crossroads – between what Margaret was, and what it can become.

Let’s build a city together that honors its history and prepares for tomorrow.

One that respects the past – but leads with a plan for the future.

If you’re ready for that vision, I’m ready to lead it.
