“Who is going to do all that?”

Let’s be real, I’m not. Not alone.

The truth is, I’m not afraid to do the work. Never have been.

But have you looked around lately? Just count the number of new people stepping up to run for office. That’s not coincidence-that’s momentum.

When dysfunction rules, people run against it. When there’s a vision, people step up to be part of it. The word is already spreading-people want to be part of what Margaret is building. That tells you everything. Businesses are already showing interest, it’s time to do great things.

This isn’t about promises. It’s about putting in the work. It’s about building teams, committees, boards-just like other cities do. It’s about liaisons who take the politics out of decision-making. It’s about working with the people, not over them.

I started pushing for a 5-Year Comprehensive Plan in early 2023, it will begin after November. That plan brings council, staff, and residents together. I’ve already initiated talks about a Historical Society, a Beautification Committee, and more-because we have talent sitting idle.

The city is full of people willing to work-they just haven’t been asked. I will. Our job is not to do it all. It’s to invite everyone in, build the plan, and see it through.

Leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself. It’s about setting the pace, sharing the load, and staying accountable.

Let’s stop expecting 6 people to run a city alone. We’ve got 7,000 neighbors who care and who have ideas, energy, and pride. Let’s give them a way to help.

“Who’s Going to Pay for All That?”

Short answer: Do you even know how much money Margaret has right now?

If the answer is “no,” don’t feel bad-you’re not alone. That’s the problem.

Long answer: It’s easy to tell who understands how government works-and who just wants to scare you.

This isn’t “spending someone else’s money.” It’s your money. So ask yourself: Why be mad at a plan, and not mad there’s been no plan at all?

While others talk in circles, here’s the truth:

✅ Our city accounts have grown by $3.7 million in just a few years

✅ There is still no plan for those funds

✅ I’ve shared multiple grant and funding opportunities that have gone ignored

✅ I’ve already started conversations to bring in infrastructure funds and business investment to the city.

Moody brought in nearly $1M in grants just for their police department. Why aren’t we doing the same?

The difference? Work ethic. Hustle. Follow-through.

Real leadership doesn’t hoard-it plans, applies, negotiates, and builds. It understands that business doesn’t just drop from the sky-it takes strategy, relationship-building, and someone who knows how to ask.

I’ve already started. The question is whether we let this work continue-or fall back into waiting for someone else to fix it.
