🕵️‍♂️ Let’s have a little fun while we set the record straight.

Rumor #1: Matt’s Going to Fire the Whole Police Department 🚓🔥
False. Laughably false. Aside from the fact that I’m not campaigning on any police or fire reform, here’s a legal nugget: the Mayor of Margaret can’t appoint department heads. That authority was removed by the Council in 2012 via Ordinance 2012-115A – meaning the Council appoints all officers, not the Mayor.

If someone on the city payroll is spreading that lie while working, they’re not just being dishonest – they’re breaking Title 36, which prohibits city employees from politicking on the job. Public trust begins with public integrity. If you can’t follow Title 36, how can residents trust you with anything more? It’s not just unethical. It’s illegal. Smart public servants know the law — and follow it.

Rumor #2: He Wants to Shut Down the Dew Drop In đźš«
Nope. I haven’t mentioned the Dew Drop In in my campaign, and frankly, I’ve only mentioned it in my entire time on the Council when it was on the agenda. Why would I shut down a local, tax-paying business? It’s a classic example of fear-mongering when facts fail. Supporting small business is key to Margaret’s growth – not shutting them down.

Rumor #3: He Wants to Turn the Whole City into an HOA 🏡
Come on now. That’s not how HOAs work – and even if it were, I’ve never said, implied, or imagined anything remotely close to this. The idea that one person can unilaterally convert an entire city into a private HOA isn’t just absurd… it’s legally impossible and civics-class-level wrong.

So what is the truth?

The truth is simple: When a campaign can’t stand on its own merit, it tries to tear down others with nonsense. But here’s the good news – if they’re making up lies this wild, it means they know we’re winning.

I’m running on transparency, planning, and getting Margaret on track – not conspiracies. If you ever hear a rumor, come to me. I’ll always give you the truth – with a side of receipts.

Because Margaret deserves a campaign based on facts, not fear.

🗳️ Do what’s right – not what’s convenient.

We need a city ran the right way. The legal way no more good oh boy, do what u want to do. Then hire people that r incapable of doing their job and even refusing to uphold the common laws of the land. No wonder people learn not to respect the law, i have respected it all my life only to see people not wanting to do their job even trying to blame it on who owns the street when it does not matter. when it comes to doing their job they work harder on not doing their job that it would to do it. Thank goodness for someone like matt. This might come across as a little harsh by some people but believe me I have not even gotten started a city not showing the public what’s legal to show them ,hiding this and that is a big red flag. Do what’s right for our little city we deserve better our children and grandchildren deserve people going the speed limit in our communities and our tax dollars deserve better care. I believe matt is the answer the leadership we have now is not working, heck all this starts at the top. Talk to matt with a open heart and a open mind you will agree vote for matt…. what’s next police letting people break into your house and telling u they did not mean to ? Think about that !

Let me, again, request the presence of ALL candidates to share their vision of the future of Margaret. Put aside ALL bickering and name-calling to offer SOLUTIONS!!!
Saturday, July 26th at 5pm. Food trucks will be available at Ridgefield Clubhouse. Thank you.

I really want to hear something from the opposition, or opposition supporters. I know it’s asking for a lot, because I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything from the left hand side of the city council at the council meetings. Well, except for maybe a NO when it comes time for something to be addressed and they don’t want it addressed. I take that back – I did hear one of them make an absolute fool of himself one night, and we all heard a left side supporter say that he felt that HIPPA violations were being committed by voicing opinions.

It is strange that the only voice we hear is Matt’s. I support him, I but I thought his opponent would put forward a platform or his vision for the city. But so far it’s been very quiet on social media as well as appearances. But I guess that based on the city council meetings you can see who is putting proposals forward and who is voting them down.
We should all educate ourselves on the issues and the candidates’ positions.
